Custom applications which combine components from several different systems, services, and data sources are more commonplace in today’s world than ever before, not to mention they are usually the most fun to build! This session shows how to combine Business Connectivity Services, the SharePoint client object model, SharePoint Search, Silverlight, Bing Maps, Twitter, the Digital Assets Library (Images & Videos), SharePoint list data, and even SharePoint’s new rating functionality to create a “mashup” application that provides a wide variety of functionality. In this session, you will learn how to combine all of these components to create eye-catching applications built on the SharePoint framework.

The meeting location is the same building as the Microsoft offices which are located at 500 E. 96th St., Indianapolis, IN 46240.  You can find a birds eye view of the location (and a map) on Bing Maps.  The meeting is on Wednesday February 16th.  Doors open at 5:30 PM for food and networking, and the presentation will start at 6:00 PM.

About Todd Baginski:

Todd has architected and implemented intranets, extranets, public facing Internet sites, and several custom applications with the Microsoft® Windows® SharePoint® Services and SharePoint® Server platforms; in 2003 he began his work during the product’s beta stages. He frequently speaks about SharePoint at many industry leading conferences including TechEd, SharePoint Connections, and the Microsoft SharePoint conference. A SharePoint Master Certification program content author, Todd is a presenter for the Business Data Catalog portion of the training.

Some notable projects Todd has worked on lately include creating the http://sharepoint.microsoft.com web site on SharePoint Server 2007 and later migrating it to SharePoint Server 2010.
